Almost done!

I worked all day on this and I'm almost done. That's a good feeling! Hopefully today I will get it finished. I need to stitch around the seaweed, scallop the top, and back and quilt it. Not too much more to do.

I also started cutting the pieces for this last night....

I just LOVE Flying Geese for some reason and right now pinks appeal to me! I was able to pull everything I needed from my stash too! I remember when I first started quilting five short years ago.......I looked at pictures of other quilter's stash and was amazed. I didn't think I'd EVER be able to make a quilt from mine. Now I still can't rival some of those pictures but I can make a quilt from mine! I'm thinking this might be my first quilt to tie......I am not sure though. I can also picture big stitches around all those geese and something in those big pink squares. Isn't it just lovely?

My first try at needle turn applique.....

All of the Sunbonnet Sue blocks I have made were done in the same style as my Grannie made hers. They were what I call top stitched. The stitches are right on top and show. Like this..Now I LOVE this look and its easy but I didn't think it was right
for my CW quilt.  To be perfectly honest I wasn't going to put this block in the quilt. I did one block called 7 Sisters and it looks awful. But I decided to give it another go and see if it would click and.....
I've decided I actually really like applique! I like doing work with my hands. So now this block is done and ready to be added to the stack. I know my applique isn't great but it's a start!

I'm almost done with adding the black border on all the blocks and then to put them together.......

My trusty Stella, a Singer 66 with the godzilla finish will tackle that job though.I just love the blues in these blocks!
